🎉 Auth0 Node.js SDK v5 — General Availability

We’re excited to announce the general availability (GA) of v5 of the Auth0 Node.js SDK for the Management API v2. This release marks a major milestone, bringing a completely restructured Management API client powered by Fern code generation.

🚀 Node.js Version Support

• Now required: Node.js ^20.19.0, ^22.12.0, or ^24.0.0
• Support for earlier Node.js versions has been dropped.

🛠 Management API Client Redesign

• Complete rewrite of the Management API client using Fern.
• Methods are now organized into modular sub-clients for better structure and maintainability.
• Consistent method naming and updated method signatures for a more predictable developer experience.
• Breaking change: These updates are not backward compatible with the v4.x client.

• Stronger TypeScript support, with standardized error handling and improved developer ergonomics.

• Optional v4.x-compatible legacy client available via auth0/legacy.
• Introduced modern package exports with support for both CommonJS and ESM.
• Updated minimum Node.js requirement as noted above.

🔄 A Note on Upcoming Major Releases

We’re continuously improving our OpenAPI spec, and upcoming major SDK releases will reflect these updates over the next few months.

While some releases may introduce breaking changes, these are expected to be limited in scope and focused on specific endpoints, not broad structural changes. In many cases, a breaking change may have little to no impact on your specific usage of the SDK.

SDKs won’t auto-upgrade to new major versions, so you can update manually when ready. To make the process smooth, we’ll provide clear migration guides with each release
