Suggestion: Remove the project root folder from the file tree #679

The file explorer side bar tree has the project folder as the root node. This means an entire column space of the sidebar is permanently occupied by essentially dead space. You can 'close' the root folder, which leaves the file explorer empty. This doesn't serve any useful purpose and takes up screen real estate. See screenshot.

I suggest remove the root folder so all the child elements sit flat against the file tree structure. You could have the root folder as a file explorer header element itself rather than the root of a tree, i.e the root folder is just the first element of the list with some different styling. Also be aware the appbar header does also contain the root folder which when right click contains most of the exact same options (like reveal in finder etc...) so it's a bit redundant in the sidebar too.

As a side note, left and right arrow keyboard handling seems knackered in the tree, it will collapse/expand the entire tree at the root node, regardless of what folder/file is actually selected, but I note that the filetree doesn't have keyboard arrow key navigation at all.
