histogram data can be acquired with cmv_hist3 / axiom_hist tool: https://wiki.apertus.org/index.php?title=AXIOM_Beta/Manual#Image_Histogram_Data

Demo output (no parameters supplied to axiom_hist tool):
axiom_hist_output.txt

additional features like selecting individual color channels, log display mode or zooming/scaling, overexposure indicators, etc. can be added in a second step.
