battery indicator always shows 0%

This is Android-x86 pie-x86 of 2022-04-15, running on an
acer TravelMate Spin B311RN-31-P5KK.

Both the widget and the Battery settings activity show 0% battery, all the time, regardless battery's real charge.

Linux running on the same machine shows the battery charge properly.
