GBIFDays 2014 Slides

What is it?

This presentation was made for the GBIF Days on 20th November 2014.

It introduces access to and use of Biodiversity Data through the GBIF network. Three examples of data are used during the Live demo :

• Paraguayan types
• Milvus milvus
• ARABEL

These data are downloaded from GBIF portal during the demo.

How To deploy the presentation?

1. Download reveal.js framework
2. Copy/Replace 'index.html' file and 'images' folder from this repository into reveal directory
3. Open index.html in your favorite browser.

Young Biodiversity Scientists/Students that want to discover Data on GBIF.

Requirements

This presentation has been made with reveal.js v2.6.2 ,a javascript framework for HTML presentations. You need to download reveal.js framework separately.

Tools used during the demonstration

Apart from accessing the GBIF portal the demo makes use of these open tools (see scripts):

• SQLite and SQLiteBrowser
• LibreOffice
• QuantumGIS
• OpenRefine
