Build only works up to ESP-IDF v4.4.3

Tried building with esp-idf v5.1.2 and though the code compiles and flashes, I get a message after the I (486) example: Display LVGL animation line something close to:

I app_main(): returned from app_main()

And I get a black screen.

However, after changing the esp-idf version to v4.4.3 as per this link, things work great and the display runs perfectly. Not entirely sure what could have changed, but is it possible to specify that this does work with v4.4.3? (and potentially check what other versions this is working with?)
