classroom and gitHub actions

Trying to use GitHub actions for CI: either test or linting doesn't work well -- at least for teh first few assignments.

Students get confused (and concerned when gitHub tells them their project "Failed" -- and actually figuring out why it failed takes soem digging in to the report.
