The recent update to VSCode appears to be incompatible with our container. There are some discussions online about the potential ways to fix it, but we haven't yet explored them. Ultimately, the right fix is for us to upgrade the container. Until then, if you're using the container in the course, you may need to downgrade the VSCode version.
