Confused on the pricing model

I've been getting the "After 6+ months use" popup over the last few weeks. There's no way to dismiss the screen other than force-quitting the app, and there's a timer bar at the top that seemingly measures nothing and doesn't dismiss the screen after its timer has expired. I assumed the pricing model has been freemium (base version free with upgrades for a charge), but is it now a 6-month trial for a paid subscription app? The wording is vague and I've never seen a popup like this in any other app so I'm honestly just confused and would like some clarification on what the pricing model is. Reviews on the app store seem similarly confused. Thanks!

Hi @blutz ! Thanks for opening this thread, I clarified part of it here

it's only meant for users of 6+ months that haven't contributed to the app in its lifetime (if anyone is seeing this and have donated or subscribed and cancelled before / contributed with code or translations please reach out to me to either my email [email protected] or to support and I can sort it out).

I'm working on the pop up being more user friendly now that I have finished my work on the Watch (e.g. add a way to dismiss it without closing the app, and also add the tip jar donation as a direct option instead of the pro subscription ). As to why I enabled it in this state, in short it was out of necessity

Got it, thank you!! I've seen so many apps suddenly change their pricing model without warning. I was worried I was going to lose access to my audiobooks, but that explanation makes sense :)
