You can try it on Chrome.
It is still under review on Firefox.

I am on version 2.1.2 (on Firefox) and sometimes I do get a .plain file but trying again will download a .mp4 file, so this is an intermittent bug.

So I've figured out how to re-produce the bug.

If you click on a story (i.e. click on a story from the homepage and go into story view) that doesn't have the id in the url and click download it will download a .plain file. You need to click on another story and then click back to get the ID.
