Windows

Go to the releases page and download a copy of YAMDCC if you haven't already.

You can also compile YAMDCC yourself or download pre-built binaries from GitHub Actions or nightly.link if you want to test the latest changes before they're published as releases.

Once you've downloaded or built YAMDCC, copy the whole directory to somewhere where you're unlikely to delete it (e.g. Program Files).

Now run ConfigEditor.exe, and click "Yes" on the UAC dialog.

You should be greeted with a window similar to this:

Dialog asking to install the YAMDCC service

Click Yes here. This will install the YAMDCC service (responsible for keeping your fan profile up to date) to your computer and set it to start automatically.

The main interface will now appear, assuming everything went right:

The "Fan control" interface of the YAMDCC config editor. All of the options are greyed out

If you got this far, great! You have successfully installed YAMDCC. Proceed here for configuration options.

Linux

Linux is not currently supported, but may be in the future.
