Motion Analysis Corp. proposes different formats to store a part of a trial:

From BTK-Users mailing list, it will be necessary to:

Improve the ASCII parsers to be more robust (see issue The parser for the TRC files in BTK is too strict an needs to be improved in OpenMA #59)
Improve the CAL parser as its content can be more general
