Create an API for relinking the back of the card and the box with the image of the user’s choosing

This is the holy grail for me. What if we could create a service where anyone could BTO back-of-the-card and back-of-the-box graphics and get a professional proof that they can take to a printer?

It would make it possible for anyone to get funding for printing OWASP Cornucopia and use the decks for games at their local chapter meetings or at conferences.

There is another issue that is a blocker here: #583

But once that issue is resolved ther is nothing stopping us for making a tool for doing this.

Hi @sydseter , I found this older issue and it really intrigues me, I would like to work on this issue.

Quick clarification: Should the API accept user image uploads to merge with existing templates, or allow full custom designs? What output format would work best for print-on-demand services?

Thanks for the clarification regarding #583 being a blocker for this.

I understand that creating a printable back-of-card / back-of-box service depends on the IDML → Scribus conversion tooling being in place first.

I’ll continue preparing and exploring the tooling locally so I can contribute effectively once #583 progresses.

Please let me know if there is any research work or smaller sub-task related to this I can assist with in the meantime.
