Possibility to add a keyboard

Hi, i really like this and want to thank you first thing.
Second, would It be possible to add a keyboard to the SMAPI that we could acess while playing? The mod portraiture need you to press a Key to switch the portrait of the characters.
If its not possible its okay, i Just wanted to ask
