Issue with installing manim on google colab; fixed issue and just wanted to inform #3733
Description
Preliminaries
- I have followed the latest version of the
installation instructions. - I have checked the installation FAQ and my problem is either not mentioned there,
or the solution given there does not help.
Description of error
I was installing manim on google colab. I was following the instructions here link. I specifically was trying the below command:
!sudo apt update
!sudo apt install libcairo2-dev ffmpeg \
texlive texlive-latex-extra texlive-fonts-extra \
texlive-latex-recommended texlive-science \
tipa libpango1.0-dev
!pip install manim
!pip install IPython --upgrade
This resulted in the error shown in the installation logs section. I fixed the error with the code below.
!sudo apt update
!sudo apt install libcairo2-dev ffmpeg \
texlive texlive-latex-extra texlive-fonts-extra \
texlive-latex-recommended texlive-science \
tipa libpango1.0-dev
!pip install manim
!pip install jedi
!pip install IPython --upgrade
I just created this issue to inform about the error and suggest that the docs may need to be updated.
