Built the Lightweight Wayland Desktop Environment (LWDE), which provides a pre-configured and ready-to-use desktop based on the Labwc composite server.

• The distribution is built on the Ubuntu 24.04 package base using its own repository. The project may be useful for enthusiasts who want to create their own environment to migrate from LXDE to environments using Wayland.
• Suitable for equipment with limited resources (consumes 213 MB of RAM after startup)
• The build for amd64 architecture (1.1 GB) is available for download.
• For livecd tests it is better to use ventoy. In virtual machines with wayland there may be specific problems with cursor, screen resolution, etc.
• I invite programmers to participate in the project. The main requirement is to stick to the idea of lightweight : gtk3 and if possible without python, rust, go ….
