LG C4 not going into standby when PC HDMI 1 is shut down #269
Comments
Hi @RonnyRogerAlpha the most common source of failures related to shutting down is an erroneous IP-configuration. Can you confirm the IP and MAC address is the same as for the wired or wireless network interface of the TV? If this does not help, please enable "debug level logging" in global options of the app to capture the issue, upload the log to pastebin or similar and add the link here along with the time the issue occured. |
If you can tell me where to find the companion log I would be more than
happy to send it to you

I did select debug but as I've stated before it does not save any changes I
make to the companion and it did not produce any file and any such folder.
I am assuming it should make the file in the folder when debug is selected.

Can you confirm that you have pressed "Apply" in the main UI as well? Both the configuration (config.json) and log is saved in the above mentioned folder |
Yes. I have clicked apply at every attempt.
No text file has ever been found in c:/program files/LGTV Companion.

I'm sorry we need to reconcile your information. You have said that "It was not Installed at download.". Have you used the installer as downloaded from GitHub? To which location have you installed the program? The default is c:/program files/lgtv companion/. When you open task manager do you see the following processes running: Press WIN+R and type %programdata% in the dialog and press enter. This should take you to c./programdata/ which is a hidden folder |
Yes I downloaded and used the installed from Github. I ran the installer
it installed a folder and a program know as LGTV at location
C:/program files/LGTV Companion.
No other folders were installed or created.
Inside the LGTV folder is 4 applications and 1 ICO file.

So the service is not running, which would explain that a log isn't being written. It is also the service that controls power on/off etc of the TV. Now to figure out why the service is not running. Press WIN+R and in the dialog type services.msc, press enter and in the dialog that opens scroll down to "LGTV Companion Service". Does this service exist? Is it set to "automatic", "disabled" or something else? Is it running? (I assume it says it is stopped since you cannot see it in the task manager) |
Yes it's there and it is listed as automatic.
