Hi @RonnyRogerAlpha the most common source of failures related to shutting down is an erroneous IP-configuration.

Can you confirm the IP and MAC address is the same as for the wired or wireless network interface of the TV?

If this does not help, please enable "debug level logging" in global options of the app to capture the issue, upload the log to pastebin or similar and add the link here along with the time the issue occured.

It is found here: c:/programdata/lgtv companion/log.txt. Thanks

Can you confirm that you have pressed "Apply" in the main UI as well? Both the configuration (config.json) and log is saved in the above mentioned folder

I'm sorry we need to reconcile your information.

You have said that "It was not Installed at download.". Have you used the installer as downloaded from GitHub? To which location have you installed the program? The default is c:/program files/lgtv companion/.

When you open task manager do you see the following processes running:

Press WIN+R and type %programdata% in the dialog and press enter. This should take you to c./programdata/ which is a hidden folder

Great, can you also check if the above mentioned processes are running on your system (via task manager)

So the service is not running, which would explain that a log isn't being written. It is also the service that controls power on/off etc of the TV. Now to figure out why the service is not running.

Press WIN+R and in the dialog type services.msc, press enter and in the dialog that opens scroll down to "LGTV Companion Service".

Does this service exist? Is it set to "automatic", "disabled" or something else? Is it running? (I assume it says it is stopped since you cannot see it in the task manager)

Press WIN+R and type %programdata% in the dialog and press enter. This should take you to c./programdata/ which is a hidden folder. In there you should now see the "LGTV Companion" folder which contains the log

Please enable "persistent connections"

and I also recommend to enable Settings->General->"always ready" in your TV's settings (and to use "always ready" without wallpaper)

Let me know how it goes
