Just wanted to say a quick hello from Italy . I’m still here for a little while, but once I’m back home in the States, I’d love to jump back in and take on more tasks with the project.
Hope all’s going well on your end
Best,
Valerio

Hi James,
Very relaxing trip indeed! We’re based in Rome, but we’ve also spent time with our clients in the Tuscany and Umbria regions.
Fortunately, despite the dramatic eruption on June 2, Mt. Etna didn’t cause any serious damage or injuries- just some flight delays, thankfully.
Looking forward to reconnecting as soon as I’m back!Valerio On Jul 13, 2025, at 7:58 PM, James Mark Chan ***@***.***> wrote:
Hey Valerio! hopefully a very relaxing trip, what area in Italy are you at? Did Mt Etna's eruption effect anything? We will definitely look forward to having you back! :)

a common believe is that generated layout managers are not as maintainable in production as hand coded layout managers. using the NetBeans layout manager from the Matisse project uses the GroupLayout and if we redid this implementation to be hand coded the two candidates i'm aware of are:
This could be a way to resolve #40
