Issue with Missiles and Rockets Getting Stuck Mid-Flight #1784

Dear HBM Mod Development Team,

I hope this message finds you well. I have encountered a recurring issue while using the mod, particularly with missiles and artillery shells. When launching these projectiles from turrets, such as the "Henry Turret," they begin to fly but then get stuck mid-air about halfway through their trajectory. This issue occurs both on a local game and on a server.

Additionally, the radar does not display their movement correctly, as it shows the projectiles as stationary, despite the game continuing to run normally. When approaching the coordinates of the stuck projectiles, they do not fully load and remain suspended.

I have ruled out server performance issues, as the server is powerful and runs other processes without any noticeable lag. The problem seems inherent to the mod, as it also occurs in single-player mode.

Could you please look into the issue and suggest any potential fixes or provide an update to address this behavior?

Do you have a mod list? If you have Optifine installed, then it's that.

Hi! Thank you for your quick response.
I specifically removed Optifine about 2 months ago, but the issue with projectiles getting stuck in the sky still persists. I want to point out that it's not just turret shells that get stuck, but also rockets and anti-missiles—basically, anything related to flying and the sky. This issue occurs when launching rockets from the radar over longer distances.
Below, I’ve attached a video where I demonstrate how these projectiles get stuck before reaching their target. I’ve also attached a screenshot with a list of all the mods I have installed.
Please help me figure out what’s causing this problem

Do you have a mod list? If you have Optifine installed, then it's that.

Also, as you can see, I do not use Optifine

I have already deleted all the mods, there is still such a bug, the missiles are hanging, please tell me which version of Java should I use, I know that 8, but more specifically, is it more recent or older?

Might be fixed now, I had a similar bug report but couldn't reproduce it just yet.

thanks for the information, but so far I have this error persists, even new bugs have appeared, I am using the latest version of the hbm mod.

ABMs getting stuck seems unrelated as they don't share any code with the artillery rockets. I'm guessing it might get stuck if the target is destroyed before the ABM reaches it?

A for the artillery rockets, I just can't seem to replicate the issue, they work fine through even unloaded and ungenerated chunks when firing them at a distance of over 1000 blocks via radar.

I've ran into this issue a few times with the artillery rockets and I've managed to replicate it in a test world with no mods other than the latest released version of HBM's. I am yet to figure out the exact conditions that cause it but it seems to happen somewhat frequently.

in the latest update (5202) with missiles (artillery shells) hoveringat launch, it seemed to be resolved, but when, for example, you launch missiles through a detonator from the other end of the world while at the other end, they do not fly, they appear on the radar, but do not fly, also when you launch missiles to the other end of the world from a turret using radar and teleport to where you launched missiles using a turret fired missiles from Henry flies, and the other 3-4 do not fly, although there was a command to launch them, 6 missiles were fully set to take off before teleporting.

Sure, just download ChickenChunks from curseforge and go to your world, place a chunkloader block and thats it. Like in the video below:

Hey I am having the same issue with the missiles. I don't have any performance mods on my server. yet they seem to get stuck in the air :)

Edit: this issue is when I launch any missiles from anywhere they all just get stuck.

Hi guys, the problem with the missiles hanging continues, the chunk loader does not help, at first it's fine, then the problem repeats again. We are playing with friends on the server, the war cannot be arranged because of this error, the following messages are displayed on the server:

Duplicating from another ticket: The problem with missiles hovering in the air remains, now we are playing on the server with a friend, the missiles are hovering in the air, at first everything was going fine, then they started to hang, you can solve this problem, the chunk loader does not help, it is powerless! The rockets don't shoot down, they don't reach, and all that nonsense! And one more request for the future, you can make a realistic air defense system for artillery shells from Haimars so that they can be shot down, and make air defense missiles for artillery shells smaller. And yes, we don't use OptiFine Thank you

I also want to say about the ineffectiveness of shooting down rockets from MLRS, watch the video, I believe that it is necessary to improve air defense so that it is possible to shoot them down, because they do not shoot down at all, to make it so that at least there is an opportunity to shoot them down, but to add realism, not everyone was shot down.
