Screencast session restore has landed in xdg-desktop-portal: flatpak/xdg-desktop-portal#638

Looks like this is how your are supposed to use it: obsproject/obs-studio#5559

One thing to consider is where to store the restore token, I think the best idea is to store it client side i.e. in the localstorage of the browser. Like that it should even be possible to give different clients a different selection of permitted pipewire sources.
