Checklist
Affected app version
all that I have used
Affected Android/Custom ROM version
Android 10/11/12
Affected device model
Sony Xperia XZ1 Compact, Xperia 5
How did you install the app?
No response
Steps to reproduce the bug
In "to" field, enter your own phone number. Type message. Click send. Wait unhappily for, like, forever :(
Expected behavior
When I send a text or MMS to my own phone number, the message should be SENT and then received by my device. This way, when I am roaming or, say, attaching an "unusual" attachment (e.g. .txt or .pdf), I should be able to send a test message to myself. Thereby, I can see if messages are being sent or if attachments are being properly handled. ---Or, say, I am sending a picture that will be compresssed, I may need to see that the recipient's versiopn is still legible.
I have been using text messaging apps since the 1990s. This app is the first that I have ever seen where messaging myself doesn't work. What the heck? I have been grinning and bearing this bc the thought of using Google messaging is so offensive. BUT, I don't think I can put up with this much longer.
Many thanks for addressing :)
Actual behavior
I send a message to myself. It shows as outgoing. But, it never comes back---even when I am on my home network and even when I am only sending text. So, I know it is NOT being sent!
