While reviewing #1082 I noticed that the tests of data_finder.py do not cover fx files (anymore). There is an outdated entry in the test's config file, but apparently this test is not active anymore.

I will re-add these tests again (for get_input_filelist), which should make the review of #1082 a lot easier.
