The session parameters are never used to update the data collection parameters as messages are validated before that and don't allow the dose to be set as None for overwriting

This should hopefully have been fixed with PR #570 . I'll test the workflow a few more times after this latest batch of PRs, and if consistently successful, we should be able to close this issue.
