Can only boot with EFI shell

Hi, I'm using Clover to boot my R730xd using two NVME drives. I have installed Proxmox with ZFS, mirroring the OS between both drives. Everything is UEFI, using systemd-boot on proxmox side.

When Clover boots, no disks are shown. Using F3, I can see the NVME drives (so yes, the necessary driver is installed), but selecting one of them results in a blackscreen. However, when I drop down to the EFI shell, I can manually boot from the drives:

FS1:
cd EFI
cd BOOT
BOOTX64.EFI

Doing that, Proxmox boots without problems. Why doesn't Clover recognize the bootloader on its own?
