Issues with Tap to Wake on Pixel 6 Pro

With HoleyLight set to hide the AOD and only show the swirl light, my Pixel 6 Pro is not waking to the lock screen by tapping on the display, no matter where or how many times I tap.

I'm not sure if this is it, because I don't have a Pixel 6 or any other device that runs Android 12, but apparently the overlay now consumers all taps, which it shouldn't, which might be a bug in Android itself (it doesn't seem to match the docs). I can't even investigate at this point because of no device. But it is on my radar.
