Printing booklet, boomaga finishes then after several minutes cups reports finished, but no actual printing

On Pop!OS 18.10 based on Ubuntu.
Installed 1.3.0 from repo.
In the cups error log there are lines like:
[Job 12] [Boomaga] QIODevice::read (QFile, "/proc/2611/environ"): device not open

But I can sudo cat/proc/2611/environ and get 👍
CLUTTER_IM_MODULE=ximLC_MEASUREMENT=en_US.UTF-8LC_PAPER=en_US.UTF-8LC_MONETARY=en_US.UTF-8LANG=en_US.UTF-8DISPLAY=:1USERNAME= plus lots more.

Is this some kind of permission thing? I can print directly to the printer just fine.

Any suggestions?

Also I see ahead of 3 of the device not open entries the following:
[Job 12] [Boomaga] Can't found active session for user myusername

I see that there was a quite old bug for something similar back around 0.9.0 but didn't see anything newer unless I missed it.

Looks like you're using Wayland. I am writing a new version of the program. As soon as the beta is ready, I'll let you know.
