Error on 515 - empty preview, no physical printing

This project here seems well developed - the GUI is nice and the handling is well described in the wiki - thanks to everyone contributing!
However, I am facing an issue on Ubuntu 18.04 LTS and boomaga installed via sudo apt install boomaga. I set it as a default printer. But when I'm trying to print a PDF it opens the boomaga window with an error message: Error on 515. When clicking on ok it closes the programm, sometimes even before clicking ok. Seldomly just the error message disappears after clicking ok and I am able to change settings in the boomaga window. But the preview of the job is always empty (gray background) and I am not able to print anything on the physical printer.
Is there already a solution to that?

I experience the same behavior on Ubuntu 18.04.1 LTS, same installation method, with different error code. Mine is Error 5784.

Do you install the program from the official repository?
It's very old (1.0.0), current version 1.3.0. Please install the version from PPA.

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:boomaga
