Project Detail
TL;DR
Fallen Order is a melting pot of manipulation and desperation, a playground for narcissists and prayer room for the poor. A unique concept loosely inspired by Circle (2015), it relies on negotiation skills and pity while weaponizing spite and prejudice.
Fallen Order is a high-stakes negotiation game that focuses on peer-to-peer (P2P) communication. In each game, players must plead with each other to have their lives spared and to become the last player/players standing.
Gameloop:
Gameplay:
Each season of Fallen Order consists of 17 games: 16 qualifiers (named after the 16 Orders of Loot, e.g., Battle of Power; Battle of Enlightenment) and one grand finale. In Season 1, games take place weekly.
To enter a game, players must pre-purchase an admission ticket NFT and spawn into the game no less than 10 blocks before it starts. If they are late, they are automatically eliminated, lose access privileges to the game, and do not receive a refund. Seventy percent of the funds generated from the NFT sales make up the prize pool for that game. Twenty percent goes to the project, and ten percent to veLords.
Once players have spawned into the game, an auction begins to buy Powerup Cards (see below). Once the auction concludes, the players spawn in game. 3 players are then randomly selected for the first elimination round.
Once the players are highlighted, each player has two blocks to plead their case and reason with the voting players from inside a private group chat. They have the options of text, voice, or video communication. After the three plea times are up, a new countdown begins for the other players, who have two blocks to discuss and vote. During this time, all players are unmuted. The jostling of player votes is shown in the UI, as selected players continue to beg for their lives while their fate unfolds before their very eyes. Votes are locked when the timer ends, and any player that fails to vote in 2 consecutive rounds is also eliminated.
When a player is eliminated, the baked animation (below) is triggered and the player is dramatically reduced to rubble leaving behind their empty podium and the spike that destroyed them.

Note: Whilst we had originally intended to use ‘time’ in place of ‘blocks’, consultation with Loaf & Bal7hazar helped us understand that time cannot be forced onchain. With that, blocks are a more enforceable constraint. Current average block times on Starknet are around 30 seconds, so each 2 block plea is meant to last roughly 1 minute. As block times can be inconsistent, it is not possible to assure players that they all have the same amount of plea time. Some will have more, some less, which seems pretty unfair. Much like the rest of this unruly game…
Outcomes:
Voting scenarios:
Majority one player: elimination for the voted player.
Split majority on 2 out of the three players: elimination for both majority players.
Three-way split: all players are saved from elimination and the next round begins.
Split Pot Rule.
At any point in the game, players will have the option to vote to split the pot instead of voting for a player. If the majority of votes are to split the pot, all players are saved and all money is distributed evenly among the surviving players. In the event of a split pot, a further 10% of the prize pool is returned to the project.
Final 2.
When it comes to the voting stage of the final two players, each player will have to convince the other player that they should be saved.
If they vote for a split pot: the pot is split in 2 and a further 10% is returned to the project.
If one of them agrees to sacrifice themselves: the entire prize pool is awarded to the only surviving player.
If one votes to split and the other deceives them by voting for them: the entire prize pool is awarded to the only surviving player.
If they both vote for each other: both die and the prize pool rolls over into the grand final (Note: if this happens in the grand final - the entire prize pool is split 50/50 between the project and veLords).
Note: The NFTs of the final 4 players in each of the qualifying battles will act as a ticket to the season’s grand final.
Powerup Cards.
Season 1 launches with 3 regular powerup cards that can be bid on at the start of each game. These will be limited to a number that positively impacts the balance of a game, and which card the winning bidders’ receive will be decided by random distribution.
Trade Places: Can be used by a player when they are highlighted for an elimination vote. Once the card has been activated, it will remove them from the elimination round, they will have 1 block to pick another player as a replacement.
The Assassin: can be used by any player that is not nominated. Once activated, they will have 1 block to select a player to assassinate. The player selected will be immediately eliminated.
Resurrection: is used automatically upon elimination. Any player carrying an unused resurrection card will be immediately revived upon elimination.
Additionally, each qualifier game has a unique Powerup Card related to the Loot Order after which the Battle is named.
E.g
Fury: can be used by a player when nominated for elimination. If they are eliminated, so, too, are all of the people that voted for them.
Vitriol: can be used by a player to trigger a special voting round, where the user can select a single player to put up for elimination. They then have 2 blocks to criticize the player they have selected and convince the voting players to eliminate them via simple yes/no vote. The selected player has no chance to defend themselves.
Fallen Order focuses on human emotion and decision making with the main mechanic being P2P communication. It targets the greedy, the needy and the degenerates. Oh, and the psychopaths. With high stakes and natural performances that can be viewed live and captured to be used as promotional content, it has huge viral potential.

I am Cumberlord.
Average is an old friend and colleague of mine. We worked together to create and build 3Q https://3q.club/, the world’s first generative 3d EQs, back in 2021. He has contributed to the rendering of PAVED’s 3d tiles and is the artist behind our beautiful Sosij pfps. His real world projects are in architecture, sculpture & experiential design, producing work for big brands, wealthy individuals and overpriced poncey establishments. Fallen Order is his brilliant concept. I will work with him on the further development of the game design and help facilitate the relationships he needs to get further involved in our ecosystem and bring Fallen Order to life.
Although Average has a strong technical background and experience coding in three.js, the team is currently without a dev (who will receive the majority share of this grant in return for their work). Subsequently, once we have onboarded one, and with the support of experienced Dojo developers like Bal7hazar (who has agreed to advise us), some adjustments may need to be made in order to make Fallen Order work fully-onchain. Indeed, efforts to avoid sybil attacks and extreme collusion - such as applying player referrals to onchain profiles - should be seriously considered. Although some amount of collusion may be a good tactic if used subtly. Players may form guilds within a game and work together with the shared goal of a split pot. If guilds or groups colluding get too big, a split pot will not be enough remuneration to make it worthwhile for those involved. Indeed, this may turn friends to enemies in the final rounds.
