After install, whether choosing to open or not, after a few seconds this message pops up.

com.baronkiko.launcherhijack is not compatible with this device.

Device is Fire 8 HD 8th Gen
Fire OS 6.3.1.2 - Nov 13, 2019, 8:26 PM.

I got the same results on my new Fire HD 10 ( 2019 ) latest OS version.

HD 10 (2017) just updated to 5.3.7.0, and hijack is still working, but hitting the home button now shows the stock launcher for 5 seconds before going showing Nova launcher.

Cant believe they did it again... maybe the update didnt deliberately block the app and it needs an update or something??

This is an explicit block from amazon. If you rebuild the application with all instances of "com.baronkiko.launcherhijack" renamed to something else, it will work again.

It looks like the rename allows it to be installed again, but when I do that I end up with the same problem as @Unknownsoldierx, where it shows the stock launcher for 5 seconds or so when I hit the home button before switching to the one I configured in LH.

The same experience for me as described by @Unknownsoldierx and @mrwright after update to 5.3.7.0 (HD10 2017). The stock HomePages launcher takes precedence again, but it randomly swaps with the other one,which is set in the recompiled version of HiJack.

How exactly do you rebuild the APK?

This is what mine is doing now since my device updated on me automatically (version 7.3.1.5) I have deleted reinstalled original and even cloned (changed name) but nothing has worked tried to change signature but when I do that the app crashes or just comes up white blank screen and become unresponsive. any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

@jimmy2lips I submitted a PR to fix - #74

I built my own apk in the mean time - https://github.com/Meems33/LauncherHijack/releases/tag/4.0.4

this one right here can be fixed by simple corrupting the launcher, although its not reccomended, it does prevent the stock launcher from draining your ram
