Using azd init with the minimal template, is there a flag or an option to specify that you want Bicep parameters of the *.bicepparam filetype instead of the *.parameters.json type?

If this feature doesn't exist, would your team be open to a contribution to include this feature?

@seesharprun thanks for reporting.

Believe we have already added support for bicepparam - #2334 @vhvb1989

I use the bicepparam support today with multiple AZD templates and it works great.

This issue is mostly to add a flag so that you can generate a bicepparam file instead of JSON.

@seesharprun , have you tried the vscode bicep extension? You can right click on any bicep file and ask VSCode to generate either parameters.json or bicepparam files

This could help you while we implement a switch for azd that lets you pick what you want.

I have not tried that, thanks!
