Done. You can login and get the instance info at AWS, if you can't download the pem you need to ssh, I can USB key or w/e to you.

@caseypt Q: uh, "instance" implied EC2, but the docs for the app template say S3 ... what's the scheme?

I haven't yet used the app template for EC2. In this app, we'll just use EC2 to run a cron job every night, which will dump a new json file on S3 for the app to use. The rest of the app will leave on S3. We can take a look at NPR's app template to see how they manage EC2 stuff.
